WEBY Personality Carl Gallups of Hickory Hammock Baptist Church, espoused this Thursday morning, January 21st, 2010 on the morning show 'Open Mic' with Mike Mashburn that the election of Scott Brown (R) to a seat held by the former Ted Kennedy (D) for the last 30 years was implied to be an answer to prayers from Jesus Christ to God-fearing Conservatives. Several callers on the morning show echoed Pastor Gallup's sentiment. However, on the Tuesday, January 19th, 2010 afternoon program of Your Turn, WEBY Host Al Stout cautioned listeners to 'be careful what you wish for.' Al Stout brought out during the course of the program that Scott Brown had indeed voted for Massachusetts version of Socialized Medicine, or their Single Payer Plan. So before you go foaming at the mouth because you are one of those "Rabid-Christian Republicans" as Loretta ( a frequent caller ) calls herself who is so gleaful at the election of another RINO, you better think twice. This game is not over.

Brown Says He Is Open to Working With Democrats on Health Care

Jan. 21 (Bloomberg) -- Republican Senator-elect Scott Brown arrived in Washington today, saying he is open to working with Democrats on health care and other issues.

“Am I open, certainly,” Brown said. “I’m open to looking at every single bill on its merits.”

Brown, who spoke to reporters in Republican Senator John McCain’s office, said he voted for a health-care overhaul in Massachusetts in what he called “a great bipartisan effort.”

“It’s clear that I wanted coverage for everybody in Massachusetts,” Brown said. “The bill that was being pushed in Washington was not good for Massachusetts.”

Brown said he has already spoken with President Barack Obama and Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid and he is “extremely gratified” by the reception he has received from Democratic leaders.

I find that often 501-3-C compliant Denominations often pander to the religious conservative members of their flocks to increase donations for the purposes of raising more money for political causes. This may be a cynical view of collection, but I believe it to be the most accurate in my humble opinion and it sickens me when candidates are paraded out by Denominations. Jesus Christ reminded Pontius Pilate that his Kingdom was no part of this world.

Fair statement, I am a long time listener, but just started checking out the website, will add it to my facebook. The Bible tells us God offers us hope, hope is the promise of eternal life through Jesus Christ. Hence, when people pray for God's intervention, and to them it seems He has, once again that hope flourishes. The problem with the country and politics as I see it(my humble opinion) is we are moving away from founding principals. We are in the process of becoming a modern day Sodom and Gomorrah. I understand that a person needs to have, a belief in God and a strong faith to see it this way. I believe in helping people who ask for help when they need it, however I don't agree with helping people who refuse to help themselves. This is a slippery slope - I understand.

Shane, let me first say thank you for taking the time to read my article and taking more time to comment. Encourage others that you know that listen to do the same! You seem to be a reasonable person, and I would agree that God allows free choice of the individual. But I would also out forth to you that some body in this nation prayed to Jehovah God that Scott Brown be elected, so I guess in that sense, because the election did turn out in favor of their prayer, their prayer was "answered" - but I don't believe God Almighty stepped in to intervene because he doesn't want American's to have socialized healthcare. If one believes that God intervened, why hasn't God prevented Red China or many other nations from embarking on the path of Socialism? Just some food for thought. Hope to see you post again!

I believe you understand what tongue in cheek is, as When Mr. Gallups mentions BHO, and says blessed be his name, as a Christian I very much disagree with this. I, in turn, believe prayers were asnwered, not in the election of Scott Brown, but the platform of Scott Brown, stating he would not support the health care bill, that is answered prayers!! I also know he supports abortion, but God offers every individual free choice in their beliefs. I also know Scott Brown is a POLITICIAN and cannot be trusted.
